Guest speaker - Skye from the Youth Engagement Project

Tonight we will gain practical insights from the Youth Engagement Project and discuss practical ways parents can connect with and support young people.

Skye will share the three guiding principles discussed in the pre meeting interview here, of the project — be yourself, be awake, be curious — and explain how they help build authentic connections.

We will explore the psychological needs of autonomy, competence, and relatedness, and discuss the PACE framework (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy) as a powerful tool for strengthening relationships. Skye will support parents with encouragement to keep showing up, stay curious, and know that the small moments of connection really matter.
